San Leon Fire hosted a two-day joint training between San Leon FD and Ciudad Fernandez FD which is located in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It was an intense two days of training. A multitude of categories were covered, personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus, forcible entry, the advancing attack lines, and search and rescue. Also during the two days of training, there were multiple discussions on the different types of strategies and tactics that we use for our respective types of building construction and occupancies. And we also discussed the challenges with recruiting and retaining firefighters. Both departments gained a large amount of knowledge which will help both organizations to be more efficient and effective in serving their respective communities.
