San Leon Fire working with San Leon Elementary provided a fire prevention program for all the students. All of the basics were covered; having a fire exit plan which includes a secondary way out of your home if your first exit is blocked along with a meeting place, and once outside never reenter the home. It was explained to the students that fire is a tool, not a toy. Also, they were taught the technique of stop, drop, and roll by chance their clothes ever caught on fire. Lastly, they were given a tour of the fire apparatus and an explanation of all the tools and equipment their purpose, and how they are used.
San Leon fire hopes by the end of the day the students were much more aware of fire safety and prevention.
