| San Leon Fire assisted Texas City FD, with the help of Bacliff and Dickinson Volunteer Fire Departments, the three departments spent much of Monday (5/19/2025) battling a grass and brush fire in the San Leon area of Texas City.
The fire was first reported at about 10:30 AM, located on Avenue P near FM 517.
Fire crews brought the fire under control within a few hours but remained on the scene Monday afternoon to ensure that hot spots didn’t reignite.
Monday was supposed to be one of the hottest days of the month. The heat combined with dry brush makes for prime grass and brush fires.
