| The San Leon Fire responded to multiple incidents today, supporting both the local community and neighboring areas.
San Leon VFD was requested to assist the Texas City Fire Department and Dickinson Fire Department with a rekindled fire involving a large mulch pile. For nearly six hours, firefighters worked together to control the fire and prevent it from spreading. Crews shuttled water to the scene nonstop, and heavy equipment was used to turn over the deep mulch, exposing hidden hot spots for extinguishment.
Later in the day, San Leon Fire was dispatched to another fire within their own district. This incident was determined to be an illegal burn.
Firefighters endured long hours and intense heat with a shared mission to protect the community, property, and land. Every firefighter and department involved demonstrated strong teamwork and dedication to public safety. |
