| While some members of the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department are helping to clean local beaches, other members are in East Texas attending a four-day Rope Rescue Awareness course at Bethel Cayuga Fire Department. This training is provided through Texas A&M.
Training is ongoing and never stops for our department. We prepare not only for emergencies in our own community, but also for situations in neighboring areas or surrounding counties. At any moment, we may be called to assist others, and it is essential to be trained, efficient, confident, and ready to complete each task safely. Our community and those around us rely on our preparedness.
We appreciate the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department members who are dedicating four days away from their families, volunteering their time, to improve their skills and readiness. Their commitment ensures that we can respond whenever the need arises and continue to protect the community we serve.
