| “Train your team to be better than you. Train them to take your position. If you don't, you've failed them.” Thursday night at San Leon Fire Department, our members continued sharpening their skills by working on their two-minute drills! One firefighter in particular, JJ Garcia, has set a personal goal of completing his two-minute drill in beating his last time at 1 minute & 11 seconds JJ even challenged his dad, Chief Garcia, to a little friendly competition! JJ pushed himself, beat his personal best, and completed his drill in an impressive 1 minute and 4 seconds! That's what training is all about! Challenging yourself, pushing your limits, building confidence, and preparing to be better than you were yesterday. Leadership isn't about being the best. It's about developing the next generation to be better than you! WE ARE ALSO ASKING OUR COMMUNITY FOR PRAYERS! Unfortunately, JJ suffered a knee injury during his Friday night football game. We ask our San Leon community, friends, and fire department family to keep JJ in your prayers for positive medical results, a speedy recovery, and a quick return to doing what he loves. Stay strong, JJ! Your fire department family is behind you! San Leon Fire Department Training Today. Leading Tomorrow. Serving Our Community |
