On December 27 at 8:28 pm, San Leon Fire was dispatched to a pole fire in the 300 block of 18th street. Upon arrival the FD discovered a utility truck had tangled its service boom into the overhead wires in the intersection of Avenue D and 18th St. This in turn caused a small fire involving a transformer mounted on an adjacent pole. The fire was extinguished quickly after Centerpoint energy secured the power in the area.
