San Leon fire annual PPE / SCBA proficiency drill, the active members of the San Leon volunteer fire department are asked to don their protective gear and SCBA in two minutes or less. This annual drill is to make sure that all our members are staying proficient in donning their personal protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus. Throughout the year our members are asked to demonstrate their proficiency in all our skills; raising ladders, stretching lines, establishing water supplies, doing primary searches, etc… We like to start off every year with the skill of donning our protective equipment and SCBA’s. Being Proficient doesn’t just mean being quick, it also means performing the skill correctly.
