San Leon Fire Department was dispatched to a reported brush fire in the 2300 block of Avenue D. Upon arrival, the first unit discovered a large brush and grass fire spanning several acres, with multiple exposures in the 300 block of 23rd Street.

San Leon Booster 1 initiated the main attack on the fire and immediately requested mutual aid from the Bacliff, Dickinson, and Kemah fire departments. San Leon Tanker 1 and Engine 3 were called to the scene to assist Booster 1 with additional manpower and water supply. The mutual aid departments were assigned to protect exposed structures and reinforce the water supply for fire suppression efforts.
