| The San Leon Fire Department announces that the New Member Winter Academy Class 2026A has been completed, including all regular training requirements, a week of proficiency testing, and a comprehensive departmental review. These steps were necessary to advance to the probationary firefighter position within the department.
The candidates will soon be sworn in and promoted to their respective roles. Over the past six weeks, they have consistently demonstrated their skills and commitment, performing exceptionally well under challenging conditions.
The department continues to accept volunteer applications. Recruiters are available to answer questions and discuss opportunities for becoming a volunteer firefighter every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the fire station, located at 337 12th Street at the corner of 12th Street and Avenue D.
