| The San Leon Fire Department has started its annual extrication training program in preparation for 2026. Over the next several months, firefighters will participate in training sessions focused on a variety of strategies, techniques, and safety practices used to extricate individuals from motor vehicle accidents. This ongoing training ensures that both new recruits and experienced firefighters stay updated on the latest methods in firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services.
The department is also inviting community members to volunteer as firefighters or first responders, as recruitment opens for the upcoming second new member class, 2026B. Anyone interested in making a positive impact in the San Leon community is encouraged to apply. Applications are now being accepted.
Those interested in learning more are welcome to visit the station on Tuesday or Thursday evenings, attend a training class, and fill out an application available on the department’s website.
