What many people don’t see is the enormous cost of keeping a volunteer fire department ready to save lives.
Outfitting just one firefighter requires thousands of dollars in protective gear and equipment. That PPE expires, becomes contaminated, wears out, and must be replaced. But the expenses don’t stop there. Fire trucks, fuel, tools, hoses, medical supplies, insurance, testing, and apparatus maintenance all continue to skyrocket.
This is one of the greatest challenges facing volunteer fire departments. We answer the call without asking who you are or whether you can afford our help—but we cannot do it without the community’s support.
